SURROUNDED IN turquoise by the Caribbean Sea, St. Croix lies 1,600 miles south, southeast of New York, and 1,100 miles southeast of Miami. At just over 22 miles long and six miles wide, our friendly, tropical island with its 50,000 inhabitants is the largest of the U.S Virgin Islands. Everyone here speaks English (some with a Calypso twist) as they invite you to enjoy all that St. Croix can offer! There are MANY things to see and do here in St. Croix. Spend a day driving around to get to know our island. To the east, you'll find beautiful varieties of cactus in it's arid climate. To the west, you'll find the lush rainforest filled with bromeliads, elephant ears, kapok trees and even mysterious termite balls looming in the rainforest canopy. In between, you'll encounter the nicest people, unique hand-made collectibles, old plantation ruins, museums, local food and music and of course...BEACHES! |
